Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

  • Welcome to Peru!
    Upon arrival at Lima Airport, a representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel (Boutique Equo or similar).

    Lima, founded in 1535, quickly became the most important city in the Americas. Today, it’s a vibrant city of over 8 million people, blending cultures from across the world.

Day 2: Lima.City Tour

Half-Day City Tour – Included
This tour highlights Lima’s cultural and historical diversity. En route to the Historic Center, see the Huaca Pucllana archaeological site (outside only), then visit:

Bodega & Quadra Museum: Featuring remains of Lima’s 17th-century defensive wall.
Santo Domingo Convent: A testament to Lima’s colonial religious importance.
Change of Guards (subject to availability at the Government Palace).

Day 3 Arrival in Puerto Maldonado / Amazon Lodge

After breakfast, Transfer to the airport to take your flight to the Peruvian Amazon.

Arrival at the airport and transfer to our office in Puerto Maldonado. Luggage not needed during your stay in the jungle can be stored at our warehouse to avoid carrying it.

Embark at Puerto Bolívar for a 40-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River to Corto Maltes Amazonia Lodge. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a refreshing seasonal fruit drink. Your guide will provide instructions for your stay and hand over the keys to your bungalow.

Lunch is served, followed by a rest until the first excursion. For guests arriving after 1:00 PM, lunch will be served as a Box Lunch made from 100% recyclable materials.

At 3:30 PM, depart for your first jungle experience with your guide, who will introduce tropical trees, medicinal plants, and other flora within the 60-hectare concession of the lodge.

Visit a Brazil nut camp and a shiringa camp (rubber extraction), learning about local economic activities. The trek lasts approximately 2 hours.

Return to the lodge to relax by the pool, in the bungalow hammocks, enjoy an exotic cocktail at the bar, get a relaxing massage, shop at the craft boutique, or watch the sunset from the pier.

At 7:00 PM, enjoy a night boat ride for a Caiman Safari, with a chance to spot other river wildlife. Dinner is served at 8:00 PM.

 

Day 4: Tambopata National Reserve / Sandoval Lake Excursion & Canopy Tower

Wake up at 5:30 AM for coffee or a hot infusion before heading to Sandoval Lake. Your guide provides a breakfast bag to enjoy during the excursion.

At 6:00 AM, navigate 20 minutes on the Madre de Dios River to the Sandoval Lake dock. Trek 3 km through lush rainforest into Tambopata National Reserve, spotting giant trees, snakes, monkeys (wasitas, cotomonos, or capuchins), and birds (including shanshos, kingfishers, and anhingas).

At the lake, ride small rowboats in search of river otters and observe a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. Breakfast is enjoyed in a scenic spot while watching nature.

Return to the dock and walk back to the lodge. Lunch at 1:30 PM.

At 3:30 PM, visit one of Corto Maltes’ two canopy towers (20m or 42m) for birdwatching, wildlife spotting, and sunset views. Also, visit a Brazil nut camp to learn about local production.

Free time to enjoy the pool, a massage, a refreshing drink at the bar, or visit the boutique. Dinner at 8:00 PM.

               

Day 5: Canopy Tower / Local Community

Breakfast at 8:00 AM.

At 9:00 AM, visit a Machiguenga family, learning about their culture, language, customs, clothing, hunting tools, crafts, and ceremonial music. Observe how they utilize natural resources for daily life.

At 11:00 AM, after a 20-minute boat ride, visit a local farm. Taste and recognize tropical fruits and native products like cacao, banana, cocona, tree bread, noni, yuca, and lime, cultivated naturally without chemicals and sold in Puerto Maldonado markets.

Return to the lodge at 1:00 PM for lunch. At 2:00 PM, enjoy free time for relaxation, swimming, cocktails, massages, or visiting the boutique. Dinner at 8:00 PM.

Day 6: Parrot Clay Lick & Departure

  • Wake up at 5:30 AM for coffee or a hot infusion before a 20-minute walk to the parrot clay lick, where 3–5 parrot species feed on special clay essential for their metabolism. Witness a spectacular and colorful display.

    Breakfast at 8:00 AM and free time.

    After breakfast, transfer by boat to Puerto Bolívar, then by vehicle to our office. Visit the local market for a 15–20-minute tour of local products.

    Continue to the airport for check-in and departure.

     

    Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel (Misqui Taita or similar).
    Spend the afternoon at leisure to acclimatize to the altitude.

    Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire, still serves as the cultural heart of the Andes.
    Overnight: Cusco

     

Day 7: Sacred Valley

Full-Day Sacred Valley Tour
Travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, starting with a stop at Pisac’s colorful Indian market, followed by lunch at a countryside restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the impressive Ollantaytambo Fortress, built to protect the valley from lowland tribes. Walk the stone terraces and stroll through the traditional town to understand this strategic Inca hub.

Overnight: Cusco (Hotel Agustos)

 

Day 8- Machu Picchu Excursion

Early transfer to Ollanta Train Station (2 hours) for your scenic train to Machu Picchu. When you arrive at Aguas Calientes, you can take a 30-minute bus ride up to the citadel.

Enjoy a guided tour of this world wonder, visiting the Main Plaza, Circular Tower, Royal Quarters, Temple of the Three Windows, and more.

Afternoon return to Ollanta and transfer to Cusco.
Overnight: Cusco

Day 9:Cusco to Puno (Luxury tourist bus).

  • Stopovers include:
    • Andahuaylillas Church (“Sistine Chapel of America”).
    • Raqchi (Temple of Wiracocha).
    • Buffet lunch at Marangani.
    • La Raya Pass (highest point at 4,335m).
    • Pucará Museum (Late Formative artifacts).
  • Arrival in Puno and transfer to Hotel Qelqatani.
  • Overnight: Puno. 

Day 10: Lake Titicaca Tour.

  • Morning motorboat excursion to the Floating Islands of Uros, made of Totora reeds.
  • Return to Puno.
  • Overnight: Puno.

Day 11: Puno to Lima

  • Transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Lima, with a connecting flight to the USA (domestic flight included)
