Buffet breakfast. Departure into old Aragon and into the proud city of Zaragoza. Pause downtown in a main plaza where you will have free time to visit the impressive Basilica of El Pilar and have lunch on your own. Continue to Pamplona, capital of the ancient Kingdom of Navarre and world famous for its fiestas de San Fermín and its famous bullfights. Free time to get to know the city. Departure from Pamplona, touring the historic Camino de Santiago, an ancient Pilgrimage route that has become a cultural and tourist phenomenon apart from its spiritual and religious content. We will arrive at San Millán de la Cogolla and visit the Monastery of Yuso, a place of meditation for Gonzalo de Berceo and cradle of the Spanish language. After visiting the monastery, we will visit a winery of the Rioja region where we will learn about the elaboration of these delicious wines and then we will be able to taste them along with a typical Riojan lunch. We continue our trip to Burgos, city of “El Cid”. Free time to get to visit its gothic cathedral, one of the most beautiful in Spain. Departure to Valladolid crossing the lands of the Ribera del Duero. Upon arrival we will enjoy a tour of the city. Free time to get to know the city. We suggest enjoying a typical Castilian dinner. This morning’s escorted sightseeing tour will allow you to get a glimpse of some of Madrid’s most outstanding attractions, like the Puerta del Sol, the magnificent fountains of Neptune and Cibeles, the stately Alcala Gate, the busy Gran Via, the Plaza de España and the Plaza de Oriente. Time for lunch on your own. Highly recommended this afternoon, is an optional tour to the Imperial former capital city of Toledo, where you will be escorted through its narrow cobblestone streets, soaking up the medieval atmosphere.
